He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles K. Shipley and Bertha M. Shipley (Anderson); his brothers, Kenneth, Richard, Clifford (Clark), Robert (Leroy) and Edgar (Tom); and his siblings-in-law, Wilmer Nicholson, Robert Miller, Sylvia Shipley and Phyllis Shipley.

He is survived by: his partner Terry Starrett; his daughter Amy Shipley of Ligonier; his stepdaughter Kellly Brooke Otterson (Sean Galbraith); his sisters, Jenny Nicholson, Patricia Miller, Sandy Shipley and Angie Shipley (Mike Schroyer); his grandson Devin Hartman (Kylee Buterbaugh); his great grandchildren, Braxtyn and Brynlee; and his nephews, John and Christopher McClinton. He is also survived by sons, and several great neighbors.
