He was predeceased by: his parents, James Swanger and Anna Swanger (Kiper); his wife Patricia Swanger (Wertz); and his daughter Kimberly Shawver. He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Piper (Tim) of Lewistown and Suzanne Shoemaker of Lewistown; his grandchildren, Joshua Gregg, Alex Piper (Amanda), Adam Piper (Sunie), Alyson Tracy (Alex), Madison Shoemaker and Sophie Fuller (Chase); his great grandchildren, Ella Piper, Emilia Tracy, Micah Piper and Jack Tracy; and his brother Kenneth Swanger (Barbara) of Lewistown.
