He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gibson and Barbara Pinkerton (Hadley); and his brother Alan H. Pinkerton. He is survived by: his wife B. Diann Pinkerton (Albright); his daughter Catharine M. Pinkerton (Cady) of Lewistown; and his aunt Kathryn Inskeep of Kilmarnock, Virginia..
