Melvin Cook McCalips Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Cook McCalips of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 25, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrison McCalips and Maxine McCalips (Foster); his daughter Cindy Vogt; his grandson Jonathan Houy; and his wife Betty Ann (Passmore).
He is survived by: his daughters, Cathy McCalips (Jeffrey Silks) of Mount Pleasant Mills and Linda Houy (Michael) of Monroeville; his sister Kay Wilcher (Richard) of Lewistown; his grandchildren, Charlie Vogt, Megan Kauffman, Benjamin Vogt, Michael Vogt, Matthew Houy and James McPherson; and his sisters-in-law, Deborah Carodiskey (late Thomas) and Helen Passmore (late Charles). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Melvin's memory to Juniata Valley YMCA.
