He was predeceased by: his parents, William B. Kearns Jr. and Mary B. Kearns (Morrison); and his stepfather Wilbur Harpster. He is survived by: his wife Karen S. Kearns (Hackett) of McClure; his sons, Ty W. Kearns (Shannon Shambach) of McClure and Michael S. Kearns of Reedsville; his granddaughter Sara Shambach; his siblings, Linda Hoy (Jerry) of Beaver Springs, George Harpster (Linda) of Lewistown, David Harpster (Holly) of Pleasant Gap, Christopher Harpster (Deb) of Tenn and Barbara Kinsey (Kent); his mother-in-law Pearl Hackett of McClure; and his siblings-in-law, Ray G. Hackett (Marleen) of Dalmatia, PA and Vicky Hackett of London, Ohio..
