He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis R. Johnson and Mary Grace Johnson (Moyer); his sister Margaret Briggs; and his brother-in-law George Briggs. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Johnson (Huffnagle); his sons, Lewis R. Johnson of York and Rex A. Johnson (Billie Jo Berson); his grandchildren, Samantha, Maxwell, Derek and Elizabeth Johnson; and his sister Alma Johnson of Beaver Springs.
