Hazel Swartz Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 28, 2021, at the age of 83, Hazel Swartz of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Russell and Olive Keefer Russell; her spouse Mahlon David Swartz; her great grandchild Victoria Hauger; and her siblings, Nelson, James, Elwood, Weber, Ruth, Anna, Dorothy, Ida Mae Fisher, Aida Mull, Jean Lilley and Nancy Powell.

She is survived by: her daughter Ruth; her son-in-law Neil Hauger; her daughter Betty; her son-in-law Timothy Smith; her children, Merrill (Leigh) and Amy; her son-in-law Doug Farringer; her grandchildren, Tony, Monica Hauger, Jesse Hauger, Randy, Christy Hauger, Luke, Alisha Smith, Paul Smith, Kathy Swartz, Amber, Chris Harkleroad and Leah Ernest; her great grandchildren, Olivia, Levi, Bryce, Evan, Erica, Makenna, Mason, Elaina, Ivy, Talia, Tony Jr., Patrick, Anna and Elliott; and her siblings, Donald Russell and Helen.

Mandatory masks and social distancing are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hazel's memory may be sent to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

“My sincere condolences on Hazel's passing to glory. She was a kind, hard-working individual who was always very friendly. I know Hazel enjoyed hunting, as she shot a buck out of Mike Gates field one day about 20 years ago that I had shot at. Hazel had the wherewithall to whistle for the buck to stop as she then dropped it. She also was a good bus driver for the CSIU as I supervised that program for numerous years. She was a great lady!
