He is survived by: his children, Douglas Scott Thomas, Sr. of Wilson, NC, Mark Christopher Thomas, Sr. of Stillwater, PA, Edward Emerson Thomas III of Wilson, NC and Rachel Shilow Thomas of Baltimore, MD; and his sisters, Elizabeth Bossle of Timonium, MD and Anne Rupprecht of Timonium, MD. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
