He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Patricia Lewis of Austin; his grandchild Play; his sisters, Nancy Banister of Austin, Lillian McNeill of Texas City, Texas, Patricia Lewis of Westhampton and Toni Byrd of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; his son John Henry Sackrey; his daughter-in-law Traci Pushkin Sackrey of Sunderland, Massachusetts; his children, Ponteir Sackrey of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Gabriel Alexander Sackrey Byrd of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Zoe, Grace and Ben; and his son Bill Sackrey. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of donations, Charles would encourage his fellow citizens to work for the causes in which he believed: social, economic and environmental justice.
