He was predeceased by: his parents, Barnett Sr. Fairchild and Mary Fairchild (Grove); his spouse Shirley Reibsame; his sisters, Ruth Kling, Helen Boyce and Caroline Poeth; his foster brother Samuel Hutchinson; and his brother-in-law Clarence Hoffmaster.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Fairchild (Mary Kaye) of Lewisburg and Kathy Lear (Brad) of Lewisburg; and his sister Anna Hoffmaster of Binghamton, NY..
