She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Markel and Dena Markel (Osburn); and her brother Elmer Markel, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Robert L. Thompson; her sister Pamela Markel; and her niece Samantha Markel (Martin Pomraning).
