He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Smenda and Margaret Smenda (Nikodem); and his son Christopher. He is survived by: his wife Anne (Flaherty); his daughter Christine Stewart (Ian); his grandchildren, Aidan, Bailey and Harper; and his close friends, Estel and Peggy Hibbs. He is also survived by many loving sisters and brothers in law.
