She was predeceased by: her husband Leo J. Hankinson; her parents, Elmer J. and Mary B. Hillegas (Fisher); and her sister Rita Monaghan-May. She is survived by: her children, Joyce E., Pauline M., Kenneth L. Hankinson (Kimberly), Joan M. Eichelberger, Lois A. Zanzoul (Hamadi) and Dorothy J. Nyland (Bradley); her siblings, Theresa Fochtman (late Thomas), Mary Raszewski (late Aloysius), Cyril Hillegas (late Gloria), Joseph and Paul Hillegas; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Hillegas (late Joseph), Mary Ellen Hankinson (late Charles), Josephine Suhrie (late Cyril) and Margaret Lynch. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
