He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel S. Nolt and Eva W. Martin Nolt; his siblings, Weaver Nolt, Paul Nolt and Eva Shirk; and his brothers-in-law, Eli Weaver, David Martin and Martin Shirk.

He is survived by: his wife Verna Burkholder Nolt; his sons, Leon (Mary Anna), Norman (Lucinda), Samuel (Rosella), Earl (Laura Lynn), Richard Nolt of Ephrata, Raymond (Lori Anne) and Paul Nolt of Leola; and his sisters, Mabel Magdalena Weaver of Leola and Edna Martin of New Holland. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren.
