He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Trayes and Ethel Trayes; his son Gordon "Eddy" Trayes, III; his grandson Matthew Hagis; and his siblings, Robert Trayes and Susan Trayes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Zernell (Charles), Debra Hagis (Nicholas) and Sharon Martin (William Stamp); his grandchildren, Valarie Zernell, Paula Zernell, Brenda Zernell, Melanie Zernell, Nicholas G. Hagis, Jr. (Carolyn McNish), Tamara Jones (Robert), Ashley Martin (Dave Reilly), John Martin, Jr. and Brianna Martin; his great grandchildren, Anthony Lee, Dominic Zernell-Lugo, Kaleb Pyant, Nicholas E. Hagis, Christian Hagis, Cameron Jones and Colin Jones; and his siblings, Freda Miller of California and Richard Trayes of California.
