He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schappell and Elda Kerchner Schappell; and his sister Ruth Dunkel. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Smith Schappell; his children, Deborah Lynn Schappell, Ronald Warren Schappell (Leslie) and Steven Michael Schappell (Dawn); his grandchildren, Brendan, Aidan, Hunter (Emily), Graysen, Elizabeth and Stephanie; and his siblings, Pauline Rollman, Arlene Kline, Gerald Schappell, Marie Sholl, Karen Hoffman and Larry Reichart.
Once COVID hit, they were unable to attend but enjoyed watching their favorite speakers on television.
