He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn D. Papay (Taras); his parents, John Papay and Mary Papay (Bauer); and his brothers, John and Peter Papay.

He is survived by: his son Jacob A. Papay, Jr. of Annandale, NJ; his granddaughter Zoe; and his brother David Papay of Slatington. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews he loved.
