He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Sr. Dowden and Pauline Dowden (Lint); his siblings, Lou, Honey and Jimmy; and also Viola "Vi" M. Dowden (Dawson).
He is survived by: his wife Viola "Vi" M. Dowden (Dawson); his child Dawnetta DeCara (Sam) of Connellsville; his great grandchildren, Tyler (Emily), Luca, Sean (Mallory), Edison, Breanne, Brandon (Niki), Hayden, Eliam, Meghan, Jonathan, Luke and Cole; his sister Marcella Finnerty of Scottdale; and his friends, Janice, Ed Simpson of Connellsville, Ron and Sandi Fletcher of Connellsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
