Counterman of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Gail L. Counterman (Stout); his parents, Grover C. Counterman and Sarah J. Schmick (Green); and his siblings, Diane Lowry, James, Richard, Reuben, Albert and Walter Counterman.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph John Counterman (Gwenda), Stewart Counterman Jr., Carrie West (Robert), Kathy Mertz (Arthur Jr.), Mary A. Counterman and Tammy Troxell (William); his sister Denise Smale (Dennis); and his pet Bandit. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
