He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Vivian G. Gatens (Schrantz); his mother Pauline Hofford; his children, Rhonda A. Gatens Sexton (Dwight Sexton) of Lehighton, Troy A. Gatens (Toni Rhyder Leiby) of Slatington and Ronald E. Gatens; his close friend Kim Sexton of Lehighton; and his grandsons, Tyler Recica and Brandyn Gatens.
