He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert F. Semmel and Anna Semmel (Blakitis); and his brothers, Robert, Lamar and Roy Semmel.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Semmel (Kreitz); his sons, Richard A. (Deborah) of Graham, NC and Michael A. (Kimberly) of Palmerton; his grandchildren, Candace Semmel King (Wesley) of Mebane, NC, Amanda Semmel Bautista (Ray) of Alameda, CA, Emily Semmel Tucker (Eli) of Arlington, VA, Daniel Semmel (Kayla Lehighton) and Brittany Semmel Pry (Harry) of Walnutport; his great grandchildren, Caroline King, Blake Bautista, Jackson Tucker, Zaviah Semmel and Pry; his brothers, Randall (Linda) of Lehighton, Ronald (Diane) of Lehighton and Ricky of Lehighton; and his sisters-in-law, Delores of Palmerton, Lenida of Arizona and Theresa of Lehighton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-niece and great-nephews.
