He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward R. Knappenberger and Pearl Knappenberger (Krick); and his brother Edward "Skip" Knappenberger. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Knappenberger (Gower); his sons, Robert J. (Debra) of Pleasant Valley, NY and Eric J. (Marie) of Missouri City, TX; his grandchildren, Ashley (Garrett Lawlor) of Howell, MI, Tiffany Knappenberger of Pleasant Valley, NY, James Knappenberger of Missouri City, TX and Lizzy (Alex Kauffman) of Manchester, MO.; and his friend Brian Jessup.
