He is survived by: his children, Esther Burlew (Edward C. Burlew) and Joel Suarez (Inez C. Suarez); his daughter-in-law Margarita Suarez (late Manuel P. Suarez); his grandchildren, Yasenia M. Zeigler (Jason Zeigler) and David K. Austin; and his great grandchildren, Mia J. Torres and Liliana D. Zeigler.
