He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shaw and Henrietta Shaw (Arrison); and his siblings, James Shaw, Daniel Shaw, Edith Auman, Virginia Kusch, JoAnn McDonald and Ella Hunter.
He is survived by: his wife Lori Shaw (Stull) of Leechburg; his sons, Jeremy Edward Shaw (Tyler) of Pittsburgh and Jason Edward Shaw of Pittsburgh; and his siblings, Francis Shaw (Andrea) of Brownsville, Michael Shaw (Judy) of Republic and Susan Shaw of New Salem. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
