He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Dechert (Leahy); his parents, Woodrow W. Dechert Sr. and Ruth Dechert (Wagner); his sons, Dennis Kerry Dechert, Woodrow D. Dechert and Kevin B. Dechert; and his grandson Kirk J. Dechert.
He is survived by: his daughter Kristie Sprenkle (Lloyd); and his grandchildren, Jessica A. Shuey (Shawn), Korie B. Dechert (Lisa), Renee E. Landes (Dan), Erin E. Velaquez (Matt) and Megan L. Dechert. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
