He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Stumpf and Catherine Stumpf (Arnold); his daughter Catherine Stumpf; and his brothers, Conrad, George and William Stumpf.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Mae Stumpf (Hensley); his children, Faith Ann Stumpf, Walter N. Stumpf, Jr. (Barbara), Angela Barnett (Lawrence), Stephen Stumpf (Wendy), Bryon Stumpf (Debra) and Suzanne Flores (Jose); and his siblings, Doris Andrews, Rosemary Arnick, Kathleen Kimmel, Joseph, Herman and Carl Stumpf. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren.
