He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia L. Shirk (Arnick); and his parents, Walter Shirk and Edna Shirk (Gassert). He is survived by: his children, Chris J. Shirk, Gary E. Shirk, Linda L. Hren (Terry), Scott D. Shirk (Melissa) and Brian M. Shirk. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
