He was predeceased by: his father Charles F.; his niece Allison J. Matthew; his nephew James L. Matthew II; and his sister-in-law Elaine Matthew. He is survived by: his wife Lucinda A. Matthew; his brother James L. Matthew; and his stepchildren, Lyda A. McCarty (Dennis), Albert F. Mertz III and Jeremy R. Mertz (Heidi). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a large network of extended family and friends.
