Donald R. Swisher Obituary

Donald R. Swisher, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Lebanon WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley A. Rueppel Swisher with whom he celebrated their 27th anniversary on December 11th. Don was born in Lebanon on August 11, 1936, son of the late Dan and Leah Kline Swisher.
He was a former shipper/receiver clerk for Kercher Machine Shop. Don had served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lebanon. Don was an active Mason as a member and Past Worshipful Master of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, Past High Priest of Weidle Chapter #197, Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Lebanon Council #25, Past Commander of Hermit Commandry KT #24. He was a member of Harrisburg Consistory, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Lebanon County Shrine Club, Past Grand Tall Cedar of Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest 25 and Quittie Woods.
In addition to his wife Shirley, Don, will be missed by his daughters, Donna, wife of Kevin Goodman of Lebanon, Elizabeth, wife of Pat Kunes of WV, his son, Rick, wife of Debra Swisher of Lebanon; stepdaughter, Karen Weaver of York; his 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and his several brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Don's funeral service on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 3 PM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd, 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon. A viewing will be held Sunday, beginning at 1 PM to time of service at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held Sunday at 2 PM by Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM.
