He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemuel Murphy and Genevieve Murphy; his daughter Mary Ann Murphy; and his brother Thomas A. Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Murphy; his children, Margaret Gipe (Thomas), Genevieve Smock (Bart), Michael Murphy (Rachel) and Timothy Murphy (Galen); his grandchildren, Katharine Shea, Mary Ann Smock, Noah Smock, Aidan Smock, Timothy Smock, Trevor Gipe, Paige Gipe, Grace Murphy, Evelyn Murphy, Beau Murphy and Magnus Murphy; and his aunt Betty Johnson.
