He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. and Carrie V. McDonald (Widdows); his siblings, Emma Mason-Schaeffer (McDonald), Leroy McDonald, John McDonald, Anna Elizabeth Townsend (McDonald), Harvey Lewis McDonald Sr., Mary Emma Conaway (McDonald), Robert and Virginia May McDonald; his son Artemus Thomas McDonald Jr.; and his niece Holly Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret McDonald (Bush); his daughter Deborah Jean (James R. Freeman); his grandson Brian M. Freeman (Krista); his great grandchildren, Holden and Everly; his granddaughter Sara L. Freeman-Musser; his great grandchild Brody D. Musser; his nephew John Nichols (Cynthia); and his nieces, Penny Ash (Sheldon), Sherry Coles (late Brian) and Tammy Nichols (late Brian).
