With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Metarko (Latrobe, Pennsylvania), born in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 6, 2020 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Metarko to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Brinzey and Marie Brinzey (Fetsik); her husband John; her siblings, Helen Filus, Katherine Krishock, Ann Toncler, Edward Brinzey and Michael Brinzey; her siblings-in-law, Anne Safian, Verna Metarko, JoAnn Brinzey, Joseph Toncler, Frank Filus, Stanley Beers, Peter Metarko, Andrew Metarko and Egon Safian; and her children-in-law, Marcy Metarko, Charles Welsh and Chris Seymour.
She is survived by: her sister Margaret Beers; her children, Patricia McKaig (John) of Glastonbury, Conn., Joan Welsh-Seymour of Westernport, MD, John Metarko of Latrobe, PA and Thomas Metarko (Leslie) of Cranberry Twp, PA.; her grandchildren, John Patrick McKaig, Lynn McKaig Barry (Greg), Johnette Metarko-Maus (Lona), Charlene Welsh (Jeremy Stafford), Matthew Metarko (Lauren), Charlie Welsh, Andrew Metarko and Sarah Metarko Corona (Marco); and her great grandchildren, Kelly McKaig, Daniella, Benjamin Barry, Lindsey, Colin Stafford, Brady and Jake Metarko.
In lieu of flowers family requests contributions in Mary's name be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Dr., Delmont, PA 15626 or St Mary Byzantine Catholic Church (address above).
