He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Laich Sr. and Virginia C. "Lena" Laich (Vecchetti). He is survived by: his wife Charlotte J. Laich (Frichtel) of Latrobe; his children, Theresa Kenney (Michael) of North Carolina, Michael Laich (Brenda) of Derry and Heather Deemer (Kevin Sullenberger) of Latrobe; his grandchildren, Michael Kenney Jr., Carley Kenney, Shannon Laich (Jacob), Sarah Laich (Christopher), Max Deemer and Lukas Deemer; his great grandchild Alayna; and his siblings-in-law, Linda and Robert Werner.
