He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Lentz and Margaret Lentz (Marks); his wife Audrey G. Lentz (Boring); his daughter Margaret Marie Lentz; his grandson Thomas E. Lentz; and his brothers, Kenneth and Norman Lentz.

He is survived by: his children, Thomas E. Lentz (Suzanne) of Latrobe, Gerald A. Lentz of Latrobe, Sharon E. Shirey (David) of Ligonier and Tammy S. Riffle (Brian) of Latrobe; and his siblings, Fred Lentz (Delores) of New Hampshire, Wayne Lentz of Greensburg and Miriam Blystone of Hostetter. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
