She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin Reed and Cora Reed (Morrow); her husband George W. Hoffer, Sr.; and her siblings, Charles, William F. Sr., George, Thomas, John, Asa B. Reed Sr. and Irene Jellison.
She is survived by: her children, George W. Hoffer, Jr. of Norvelt, James W. Hoffer (Wendy) of Scottdale, Arnold F. Hoffer (Lori) of Latrobe, Robert D. Hoffer (Jennifer) of Greensburg, Joan M. Hoffer of Baggaley and Jane Shafran (Jeff Sr.) of Baggaley; her nephew Donald W. Reed of Baggaley; her grandchildren, Jennifer Keough (Francis), George W. Hoffer III, Jeffrey Shafran (April), Asa Shafran (Emily), Amber Whitehead (Jeremy), Rachel Hoffer, Amanda Hoffer and Troy Hoffer; her stepgrandsons, Nicholas, Justin Campbell, Tyler Bradley and Michael Walstrom; her great grandchildren, Kelsey, Colin, Carson Keough and Gradyn Shafran; her close friend Sharon Matuszky; her friend Wendy Wadsworth; and her daughter-in-law Lori. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department or the Salvation Army of Latrobe in memory of Dorothy.
