He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Stack (Snyder); his parents, Joseph Stack and Anna Stack (Verazin); and his siblings, Edward Stack, Eleanor Preneta and Dolores Superdock.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph R. Stack Jr. of Tamaqua, Michael Stack of Lansford and Diane Stack of Lansford.

Contributions, in Joseph's memory, may be made to St. Jude's Research Children's Hospital.
