He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. and Bridget (Pennington); his son John A. Cannon, III; and his sisters, Nancy Scott and Jeannie Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife Carol R. Cannon (Gray); his children, Dana Rutherford, Jr. (Ken) and Jason Cannon; his grandchildren, Kenny Rutherford, III and Julie Rutherford; and his brothers, Aloysius Cannon and Charles Cannon.
