He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Umstead and Dorothea Umstead (Weller); his grandson Gregory; his great grandchild Riley; and his siblings, Herbert Umstead and Gale Bupp.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Umstead (Gehman); his children, Wendy O'Connor (Rick) of Harleysville, Joy Daggett (Steve) of Spencerport, NY, Lori Rothenberger (Dan) of Pennsburg, Sandy Hopkins (Tom) of Spring City and Jerry Umstead (Debi Rollins) of Quakertown; and his sisters, Janet Voeks of Lansdale and Patricia Geiger (Ray) of Sparks, NV.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
