He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Vernell, Sr. Shaw and Claire Leigh Shaw (Schlaich). He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Shaw (Coburn); his in-laws, Gordon, Pat Coburn, Jim and Linda Coburn; his aunt Grace Kershaw; and his pet Fred. He is also survived by several cousins, extended family.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, Inc. (333 County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at the Sunset Memorial Park (333 County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vern's name may be made to the T-Cell Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation (https://www.tcllfoundation.org) or Grace Point Church (https://gracepointpa.org).
