He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert J. Charles and Elma Charles (Shepperd); his grandson Michael; and his siblings, Robert, Richard, Brenda and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his wife Martha; his children, Quintin, Jason (Angelique) and Michele (Howard); his grandchildren, Mansa, Jaesun, Maverick, Jaxon and Kiara; and his sister Elaine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
