He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Matz and Aquilla H. Matz; and his siblings, Charles H. Matz, H. Arlene Fritz, Evelyn Horning and Alverta M. Witman.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Matz (Huffman); and his sister Mary Jane Grote. He is also survived by two stepchildren, nine step grandchildren.
