He was predeceased by: his parents, Eloy Vargas and Salome D'Leon; and his siblings, Epiphano Vargas, William Vargas and Gladys Cruz.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Esther Vargas (Oquendo); his children, Gladys Vargas Cruz, Judy Vargas, Joseph Vargas, Henry Vargas (Evelyn), Robert Vargas (Migdalia), Sara Vargas (Richard Rivera) and David Vargas (Marianela); and his siblings, Nelson Vargas, Angelo Cruz, Javier Cruz and Ramona Vargas.
