He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Dickerman and Goldie Schmitz Dickerman; his wife Margaret Oberlin Dickerman; his son Matthew; and his sister Shirley Storb.

He is survived by: his children, Amy Dickerman and Steve Dickerman (Suzanne); his granddaughters, Emily (Connor Recarde), Abigail (David Augustine) and Elizabeth; his grandmother-in-law Josh Buser; and his great grandchildren, Dahlia, Lucy Recarde, Luke, Lena Augustine, Cohen and Dawson Buser.
