He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin S. Stauffer and Anna Mary Bredthauer; and his brothers, Melvin and Allen Stauffer. He is survived by: his wife Miriam; his sons, Jay D. Stauffer (Trena) of Columbia and James D. Stauffer (Jalana) of Lanc; and his sisters, Mary Ella Witmer, Hettie Jean Eckert, Martha Ann Garner, Nancy Petka and Carolyn Curl. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
