He was predeceased by: his wife Clara H. Riester; his parents, Hubert Riester and Lora Riester; his brothers, Albert E. Riester and Walter H. Riester; and his siblings-in-law, Eric Maier, Elinor Maier and Sallie Riester.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Riester O'Connor, Frederick H. Riester (Marilene) and Janet Riester Walsh (William); his grandchildren, Erica O'Connor Byram, William R. O'Connor, Kaitlyn E. Riester, John C. Riester, Alissa J. Walsh and Daniel W. Walsh; and his sister-in-law Janet Riester. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
