She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar M. Bonholtzer and Anna Mary Bonholtzer (Lyons); her siblings, Arthur Bonholtzer, Frances B. Metzler (Bonholtzer), Evelyn B. Summers (Bonholtzer) and Verna Groff (Bonholtzer); her sons, George G. Schanz (Jerry) and Terry T. Schanz; and her grandson Kyle T. Schanz.
She is survived by: her friend Thelma Tucker; her son Kerry K. Schanz; and her daughters-in-law, Anne Schanz (Jerry) and Laura Schanz (Terry). She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
