He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Birkner and Margaret Luke Birkner. He is survived by: his sons, Ryan Birkner (Carrie), Darren Birkner (Maisie) and Nathan Birkner (Meagan); his sister Linda Diane Miller (Charles); his grandchildren, Chloe, Hailey, Lennox, Jordyn, Audriana, Bennett and Paul Miller (Tami); and his niece Carrie Miller (Michael).

Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
