With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joyce A. Sargent of Lake City, Pennsylvania, born in Sheffield, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Page Vashaw and Muriel Vashaw Zandi (Geer); her husband Donald J. Sargent; her stepparents, Leo Zandi and Ruth Vashaw; her stepsisters, Rebecca Copley and Beverly Landers; and her brothers-in-law, Ross Sargent (Emma Jean), Keith Sargent (Elva), Robert Sargent (Ruth) and Richard R. Sargent.
She is survived by: her children, Eileen D. Sargent (Darrell Hawk) of Shawnee, KS, Pamela J. Thornton of Girard and Edward P. Sargent of Erie; her brother Rodney P. Vashaw of Apex, NC; her son-in-law Robert Buman of Lake City; her stepbrothers, Richard Zandi and Bob Bunting (Laura) of Sheffield, PA; her grandchildren, Freyja, Brett, Lorena, Amelia and Katherine; and her goddaughter Holly DeMaranville (Rathbun). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edder Funeral Home, Inc. (309 Main St E, Girard, PA 16417). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Federated Church of East Springfield (11995 Main St, East Springfield, PA 16411). A committal service will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Girard Cemetery Church. A burial will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at the Girard Cemetery.
