He was predeceased by: his father Anson Thornton Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Betty Thornton (Richards); his wife Pamela Thornton (Sargent); his children, Taylor Symecki (Steven) of Erie and Anson J Thornton of Erie; his stepdaughter Amelia Buman; his brothers, Brian Thornton (Sherry), Michael Nelson (Penny), Chad Nelson and Steven Anson-Thornton; and his grandchildren, Kara Symecki, Raven Symecki, Alastor Orris and Idris Flynn Thornton.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Anson Thornton Memorial Fund C/O Edder Funeral Home Inc.
