He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl F. Michaels and Jean Earll Michaels; and his sister Candace "Candy" Cirino. He is survived by: his sons, Thomas (Michelle) of Fairfax Station, VA and Robert of Ashburn, VA; his grandson Connor of Herndon, VA; and his nieces, Gina, Theresa and Samantha (Marion Lanman) of Dallas, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to a charity of the donor's choice in Rick's memory.
